Bensenville man accused of battering, attempting to kidnap Jewel employee with special needs

BENSENVILLE, Ill. — A Bensenville man is facing multiple charges after allegedly battering and attempting to kidnap a Jewel employee with special needs.
Officers responded to the store, located in the 1100 block of South York, Monday night at around 7:30 p.m.
Ismael Andrade Pino, 53, of Bensenville, was allegedly approached a woman with special needs collecting shopping carts in the parking lot.
He allegedly told the woman to go into his car and she refused. Pino is accused of blocking the woman’s path and then grabbed her neck while telling her to go into his car.

Pino allegedly grabbed her a second time and released her when another person came out of the store.
Pino returned to the store on Tuesday and was taken into custody after staff called police.
He was charged with attempted kidnapping, two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of unlawful restraint.
Pino’s pre-trial release was denied.
