A hazardous weather outlook was issued for much of Vermont Dec. 9 as a mix of winter weather is expected to impact the state over the next couple days.
Following sub-zero temperatures across much of Vermont Tuesday morning, Dec. 10 will see widespread light snowfall.
Here’s what to expect, according to the National Weather Service of Burlington.
When will it next snow in Vermont?
Snow is expected to fall all day Wednesday, Dec. 10, with the heaviest snowfall rates expected in the morning.
How much will it snow?
The NWS of Burlington predicts accumulation of about two to five inches of snow.

Wednesday morning, accumulation rates could reach one inch per hour.
Where will it snow?
The hazardous weather outlook was issued for central, northeast, northwest and some of southern Vermont.
It is not in effect for Vermont’s two southernmost counties, Bennington and Windham.
For Burlington in particular, one to two inches is forecasted. Rain is possible along with snow.
More snow possible the rest of week
The NWS also predicts more snow Thursday night into Friday, with two to six inches possible from Mt. Mansfield to Jay Peak.
